Day 2 & 3

We began our Saturday early with breakfast at
Denny's across from the hotel.
We spent the meal being entertained by
a waitress who told you like it is.
"How's your food? Don't tell me cause I don't really care."
type comments.
But we also met another couple who was
boarding the same ship we were.
We continued to 'run into' Paul & Jan on
a daily basis throughout the cruise.

After being escorted from the hotel
we finally went through the process of
boarding the ship.
Almost like an airplane but the people
were much friendlier.
The Princess Golden

This is Kevin & Ron (son and 8? year old father ),
our tablemates throughout the cruise.
There were 2 more seats but that couple
never turned up.
They were very nice and interesting people to get to know.
We saw them around often - but of course,
Kevin is pretty easy to pick out.
Our room with a view - YEAH!

Up on deck as we prepare to depart.

The crowds prepare to say Bon Voyage.

See you next week Seattle.

We spent the rest of Saturday and all day Sunday at sea.
We spent the time walking around the boat,
going to shows and lectures, and of course eating.
I spent a lot of time just sitting on the deck watching
the world go by.
We did see some sea animals.
They told us to watch for these spurts of spray
because a whale would be surfacing right after.
They were however, rather difficult for a
slow photographer like me to catch.
I got lots of tails though. :)
Sometimes the total lack of color just amazed me.
I'm sure there's a scientific reason for the black and white
but I've no idea what it is so I just enjoyed the novelty.

We searched the shores for wildlife but mostly
just saw awesome scenery on our way to Juneau.
I really liked the fact that we were almost always
in sight of land - I'd make a lousy sailor.
